Title: LDA- Learning Disabilities Association of America
Site URL: http://www.ldanatl.org/index.cfm
Comments: The LDA is a national organization dedicated to helping people with learning disabilities (LD). There site can e a resource for parents of LD children, teachers and anyone else who may be LD. This site is very simple and does not have too many options on the front page. It has a simple side bar that easily navigates you through the site. Once under a topic the sub groups move to the top of the opened page. I like this site because it doesn't go too in depth for a first time visitor but allows the veteran to look up in information. As a teacher I like this site because one of the main side tabs if for teachers, which leads you to more option in different area's to study up on. It has many options from early childhood development to types of learning disabilities, to accommodating techniques. I would recommend this site for anyone who is looking for more in depth knowledge about LD or for anyone who may have an LD child.
This is a good site for parents and teachers alike. Focusing specifically on the teachers aspect of this site I particularly find all the links to articles that teachers could use to keep up to date with special education information a great asset. I also find the schedule of state conferences that this association provides a nice resource. Again this would benefit teachers because instead of just reading up on articles they could go to the state conference and collaborate with other teachers in their field. If I were a teacher I would use this website to keep up to date with techniques and keep up to date with the conferences. However, I would only use this site for my own personal gain I would probably not use this site in the classroom. The only limitation I could find with this site is that there isn't a student option. I feel if they incorporated a link for students it would put this website over-the-top. (SS)

Title: Education World
Site URL: http://www.education-world.com/a_curr/curr139.shtml
Comments: Education World is a site dedicated to teachers. To helping with lesson plans, professional development, school issues and much, much more. The part I am focusing on is the special education portion of the web site. It is easily set up so that a teacher may become familiar with teaching special needs children. It gives a nice introduction and as it progresses and becomes more specialized you can lick on a subject you may not know and it will ring up and new page explaining it. Then at the end of the page it list more resources. Also when you travel to the other tabs, it has really great lesson plans. Its liberary of lesson plans is diverse and are easily adaptable to different grade levels.

I found this site to be full of knowledge and information regarding teaching all different students. There are many different resources available for teachers to help make learning fun in the classroom. I would definitely be able to use this website as an elementary special education teacher. The site seems to have very current and valid information. However, I wish there were learning games and activities for the students incorporated into the website. This site is a great teacher resource but provides no learning opportunities for the student. *JN
